THE BEVERLY HILLS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
SUPPORTS MEASURE M
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BEVERLY HILLS, California (September 28, 2016) – The Board of Directors of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce voted this week to support Measure M, the Los Angeles County Traffic Improvement Plan, which will be on the November 2016 ballot.
The transportation system in Los Angeles County is undersized and needs to grow for the region to remain a world-class metropolis. In this respect, Measure M will raise approximately $120 billion in transportation funds to continue to build out the region’s transportation system. This includes rail, bus and other projects across the County from the San Gabriel Valley to the Westside of Los Angeles. Measure M will also advance completion of the Purple Line subway running under Wilshire Boulevard to 2024, completing a critical transportation link between downtown and the Westside and providing a boon to the Beverly Hills area economy and transportation links.
On balance, Measure M will create thousands of jobs, provide funding for repair of local streets and sidewalks, expand the rail and bus system, and enhance bike and pedestrian connections. The Chamber supports Measure M as good for the economy and the region.
