DESCRIPTION:The Military Veterans Commerce Committee and US Secret Service Present: Protecting Your Business\n\n\n\nThe Chamber is excited to welcome US Secret Service Special Agent Terence O'Rourke to inform businesses how to protect themselves from fraud. Special Agent O'Rourke will cover multiple types of fraud that affect businesses including counterfeit cards and cash\, wire fraud\, and skimming.\n\n\n\nFollowing the workshop will be a mixer at Porta Via which is the perfect opportunity to gain valuable insight and network with other industry professionals.\n\n \n\nAbout Special Agent O'Rourke\n\n\n\nUS Secret Service Special Agent Terence O'Rourke was born and raised in La Jolla California. He is a graduate of The Catholic University of America (Washington DC) with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Special Agent O'Rourke is currently assigned to the Los Angeles Field Office.  He has been employed by the USSS since 2003. His past assignments include the White House\, the Vice President's Residence\, Candidate Nominee Operations Office\, the Washington Field Office\, and the Los Angeles Field Office. His duties include protection to the President and others eligible by law\, and the investigation of violations of federal criminal law\, particularly those laws found in Title 18 of the United States Code\, relating to bank fraud\, wire fraud\, identity theft\, money laundering\, and other illegal financial transactions. As a member of the Los Angeles Fraud Task Force (LAFTF)\, he is responsible for the investigation of financial crimes\, specifically skimming and access device fraud.  As an employee with the USSS\, his training includes: the USSS Special Agent Training Course in Beltsville\, Maryland\, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Criminal Investigator Training Program in Brunswick\, Georgia.
