Government Affairs Committee Meeting
Please come out for our January Government Affairs Committee meeting where we will be discussing a fresh slate of interesting issues for 2019!
Please come out for an important discussion on potential laws that would prohibit the sale of fur and alligator/crocodile skin sales in California. This is an issue that significantly impacts our business community. Please come out to hear presentations about this important topic and to provide your input.
Last year, the Supreme Court's decision in Dynamex Operations West, Inc. v. Superior Court altered the test for when a person is considered an employee versus an independent contractor. Our Committee will be hearing a presentation on this important decision as well as consider any action that may be taken by the legislature to address this new ruling.
Senate Bill 946 legalized street food vending in the State of California. In response, cities have begun enacting regulations to properly manage potential vendors. We will have a presentation and discussion on a recent ordinance enacted by the City of Beverly Hills on this issue.
This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the important issues impacting our City and region and to provide your input! Please join us!
