Government Affairs Committee Meeting
Please join us for our May Government Affairs Committee meeting.
The City of Beverly Hills has formed a COVID-19 Business Recovery Assistance Task Force to identify ways to develop and implement policies to help businesses in the City recover from this crisis. Please attend to provide your ideas and input on this important topic.
We will also discuss other important updates, including the City's examination of commercial tenancy rules in light of COVID-19 and the City's Streetscape Plan for Wilshire Blvd.
The United States Chamber of Commerce will present critical updates about the Federal Stimulus Package and discuss important business resources, including the application information for SBA and other loans. The Chamber has also joined the Save Small Business Coalition and will discuss efforts to create a Federal Recovery Fund for businesses.
There are a number of policies and legislation now moving forward very quickly at the County and State levels that impact businesses. Two state bills in particular we will take a look at are AB 2843 (imposing an additional annual fee on applicants for a local business license - bill attached) and SB 1399 (imposing new cost burdens and legal liability on clothing retailers - bill attached). Please come out for an important update and to take any positions as needed on these issues.
