We are pleased to welcome Joshua Schank, Ph.D., as our November EDC speaker. Dr. Schank is one of the most innovative voices in transportation and infrastructure today, with a career that spans federal policy, national think tanks, and the leadership of one of the largest transit agencies in the country.

As the first Chief Innovation Officer at LA Metro, Dr. Schank founded the agency’s Office of Extraordinary Innovation, where he brought entrepreneurs and businesses to the table to develop partnerships between the public and private sectors. He helped lead some of Metro’s most ambitious initiatives, including the Vision 2028 Strategic Plan, Metro Micro, the Traffic Reduction Study, Better Bus, early development work on the Sepulveda Transit Corridor, and the proposed aerial tram connecting Union Station to Dodger Stadium.
With the region preparing for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and new transit investments reshaping how people move through Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, Dr. Schank will share his perspective on where mobility is headed, how innovation and private investment are changing infrastructure, and what it all means for businesses, developers, and property owners in our community.
