35th Anniversary Screening of Tommy at The Academy
The Who’s electrifying rock opera, Tommy, features one of the greatest rock ’n roll scores of all time, earning an Oscar nomination for Pete Townshend.
The incredible cast is led by the Oscar-nominated Ann-Margret, and includes Townshend’s bandmates John Entwistle, Keith Moon, and Roger Daltrey as Tommy. It also features appearances by Elton John, Eric Clapton, Jack Nicholson, Tina Turner (as the Acid Queen) and other pop culture icons.
The evening’s event features an onstage panel discussion hosted by Murray Lerner with special guests, director Ken Russell and editor Stuart Baird. Murray Lerner is an Oscar-winning documentarian (From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China) and Academy member, whose work includes Listening to You: The Who at the Isle of Wight Festival (1970) and Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who (2007).
