Building Your Business' Website - What Your "Business Needs 2 Know"

DESCRIPTION:
In the first half of this workshop we will explore a number of web development platforms, technologies, and approaches and help the entrepreneur determine which may be right for her situation. Special focus will be placed on the benefits of using WordPress as a solution and will provide specific instruction on how to deploy it. We will discuss hosting, ecommerce, and other content management systems.
The second half of this workshop will take participants through the basics of the design process. We will cover analysis, user experience design, information architecture, content development, and page layout.
This workshop will serve as preparation for the second workshop in this series, DIY: Customizing Your Business’ WordPress Theme. This is a hands-on course and will take place in a computer lab. Participants will work on their websites in the computer lab with direct guidance and instruction from the lecturer.
