Government Affairs Committee Meeting
Please come out for our April Government Affairs Committee meeting where we will be discussing a fresh slate of interesting issues!
The City of Beverly Hills is evaluating potential policies that would ban the sale of tobacco in the City. The City's Health and Safety Commission has made recommendations due to be considered by the City Council in May. Please come out for a discussion of this important issue and to provide your input.
We will discuss the latest news on potential laws that would prohibit the sale of fur and alligator/crocodile skin sales in California. This is an issue that significantly impacts our business community. The Chamber is opposed to a ban onthe sale of these items and is working with stakeholders on this important issue. Please come out to learn more about these efforts and how you can get involved.
We will also hear a presentation about the rollout of the Clean Power Alliance, a new locally operated electricity provider for business customers in Beverly Hills. Come learn about the electricity options for your business and learn about the purpose of this new electricity delivery model.
SB 669 is a bill that would place a tax on water to help create a Safe Drinking Water Fund for residents throughout the State of California. We will have a presentation and discussion on this important bill.
The Committee will also get updates on other local, state and federal matters. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the important issues impacting our City and region and to provide your input! Please join us!
