Government Affairs Committee Meeting
Please join us for our next Government Affairs Committee meeting where we will be discussing several key policy issues.
The City of Beverly Hills has released a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) Westside Purple Line Extension Wilshire/Rodeo Station North Portal. The draft EIR evaluates options for a second entrance/exit for the Wilshire/Rodeo Station on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard. The three potential portal locations are: Beverly Drive, Cañon Drive-Half Portal, and Cañon Drive Staging Yard. Please join us for a presentation about the findings of the draft EIR and to weigh in with your input for the proposed station.
LA Metro has requested a waiver to work through the current moratorium on work during the holidays (Thanksgiving to New Year's) in Beverly Hills regards to the Purple Line Subway Extension, Section 2 for the future Wilshire and Rodeo station. Please come out for a presentation and discussion of this request and to provide your input as part of the Chamber. The City of Beverly Hills has placed a ballot measure on the November 2020 ballot. It would serve to protect revenue from sales tax by providing for a sales tax increase to be triggered for Beverly Hills if and only if the County of Los Angeles or other government entity seeks to impose one in the future. Please come out for a presentation and discussion of this important matter.
We will have a number of other important updates on local, state and federal legislation and developments as well as other important news from the community. Please join us!
