Small Business Saturday Takes Over Beverly Hills
Over 70 Small Businesses in Beverly Hills are Ramping up for American Express’ Small Business Saturday
Beverly Hills, C.A. – November 22, 2013 - Small Business Saturday, created in 2010 by American Express, falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday on November 30, 2013 to help small businesses get what they need most: more customers. Alex Stettinski, Executive Director of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce (BHCC), states: “The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce has always been a strong supporter of our small business community. Together with the City of Beverly Hills, we are thrilled to be able to promote the American Express Small Business Saturday, which will help strengthen our local community and drive business to our local small businesses. Over 50% of all dollars spent at local small businesses stays in the community and helps provide the services needed to keep Beverly Hills as strong and healthy as it is.”
The BHCC has been campaigning for Small Business Saturday by utilizing a Street Team to rally the neighborhood, by hosting a breakfast where an American Express representative made a presentation about Small Business Saturday and was available to answer questions, by having a booth at the Beverly Hills Farmers Market on Sunday, November 24th to provide information about Small Business Saturday to Beverly Hills locals and residents, and by going out on Small Business Saturday to utilize social media in real-time to help the small businesses. The BHCC has asked the Beverly Hills Courier to jump on board to partner up in an effort to maximize promotion and marketing for the big day to support local Beverly Hills small businesses.
John Fieweger, BHCC Street Team member, explains his experience during the campaign: “All of the businesses I have visited in Beverly Hills have been extremely receptive and are all very excited about the campaign. It’s a really important day across America and it’s an honor to be able to help support the small, independently owned local businesses in Beverly Hills”. The Chamber’s Street Team has been responsible for visiting Beverly Hills businesses, both Chamber members and non-members, explaining what Small Business Saturday is, how they can get involved in the campaign, and making themselves available to answer any questions.
Beverly Hills Mayor, John Mirisch will be out and about shopping small in Beverly Hills on the very exciting day and the BHCC encourages all locals and residents to #shopsmall on Small Business Saturday, November 30th, in Beverly Hills!
