As we approach another anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, our 35th President, and recognizing the notable career of Senator Ted Kennedy who passed away this month, join us for a unique retrospective of events surrounding The Kennedys, America's most extraordinary and influential political family.
This will also be presented as a Special Theatre 40 Fundraising Event with only 2 performances. There will be two fully-staged readings at Theatre 40 on Friday, November 20th and Saturday, November 21st. Curtain at 8:00 PM - Tickets: $25.00. Reservations for this fund-raiser at 310-364-3606.
Young Rose Fitzgerald dreamed big, but even she couldn't have imagined that she would become one of the most venerated icons of the 20th century. 104 years from cradle to grave, she experienced rapturous heights to depths of despair, episodes indelibly branded into the American psyche. A woman of complexity, strengthened by faith and love of family, she endured - and inspired - and lived a life worth remembering.
In The Color of Rose, two actresses from T40, Gloria Stroock and Meredith Bishop, plus a third actress to be named, play Rose at various stages of her life, suggesting the wide-eyed optimism of youth, the harsh and bitter reality of her middle years and, finally, a coming to terms with all that went on before. Like the threads of a tapestry, the recounting of experiences in her turbulent life is less a chronological biography than an interweaving of significant events, challenging her strength and beliefs in her ultimate journey toward peace.
