The value we have derived from the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce comes from the power of being associated with such a recognizable brand as the city of Beverly Hills. In addition, the relationships we have fostered with business professionals and Chamber staff members has allowed us to partner with local Law Firms, Public Relation Firms, Entertainment Industry Professionals, and the Chamber of Commerce itself by providing our security services at their signature events. Our membership in the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce has positioned our company for continued growth and has increased our brand recognition significantly. We highly recommend the Chamber as a platform to increase your business and meet like minded individuals.
Please come out for our June Government Affairs Committee meeting where we will be discussing a fresh slate of interesting issues!
Please come out for an important discussion about the California Tax on Commercial and Industrial Properties for Education and Local Government Funding Initiative, otherwise known as the "Split Roll" Initiative, which will be on the November 2020 ballot. This Proposition would undo the provisions of Proposition 13 as to many commercial properties and would tax property based on fair-market value rather than, under current law, the original purchase price plus inflation.
We will also have a presentation and discussion on the California Local Rent Control Initiative which would allow local governments to enact rent control on housing that was first occupied over 15 years ago.
The City of Beverly Hills will present on the latest City updates, including its COVID-19 response and new updates on City related business matters. We will also discuss the City's new Connect Beverly Hills project to develop a streetscape plan and design standards for Wilshire and La Cienega Boulevard in preparation for the upcoming Metro Purple Line Extension that will bring two new subway stations to Beverly Hills. The City is currently conducting outreach so this will be an important opportunity to provide stakeholder feedback.
We will have a number of other important update on local, state and federal legislation and developments as well as other important news from the community.
We will also save time to hear from our members with their questions and input.
Please join us!
