About Us

April M. Chaney is an accomplished makeup artist with over 25 years of experience enhancing clients' natural beauty across the country. A graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.A. in Mass Communications and a Minor in African American Studies, April has spent her career perfecting her craft and expanding her artistic expertise. Raised in Irondale, Alabama, in a Southern Baptist household, April began her career in retail, working for notable retailers
like Parisians, MaRae's, and Saks Fifth Avenue in the South. It was during a visit to Los Angeles in 2003 that she decided to stay and immerse herself in the city's vibrant, multicultural beauty scene.
Throughout her career, April has been mentored by some of the most respected names in the industry, including Nicole Newell Paul, Heather Currie, Collier Strong, Sam Fine, Geneva Nash Morgan, Don Morgan, and Sue LaPrell. Her work has been featured on major platforms, including TV, film, print, and fashion runways, and she has contributed her talent to over 100 commercials. April has also worked backstage at prestigious events such as the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports, the Emmy Awards, the BET Awards, the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards, and the Academy Awards. April owns Effleurage, a luxury salon and spa in the heart of Beverly Hills, where she continues offering high-end facials and makeup services.
